From the Guardian:
Police in the UK are planning to use unmanned spy drones, controversially deployed in Afghanistan, for the “routine” monitoring of antisocial motorists, protesters, agricultural thieves and fly-tippers, in a significant expansion of covert state surveillance.
Nice.
How would one shoot them down?
Doubt you’ll need to – Afghanistan has rather fewer sources of interference etc., and I’m willing to bet that within a few months one will crash publicly enough, and do enough damage, to discredit the operation.
Let’s hope these also allow people with the right bits of kit to monitor the video stream, like the US ones.
