a late night

It’s very rare for perlmonger and I to have a late night. To sit up until 2 a.m. watching television is practically unheard of. Especially as it was Torchwood.

When Torchwood started, we watched about 2 episodes, thought it puerile rubbish, and never watched it again. But the review of series 3 made us wonder, so we grabbed the full set via the wonders of the internet, and sat down about 8 p.m. last night to give it a try.

Despite there being things in there that made me shout at the television, and it was astonishingly good. I’m a sucker for stories about governments’ response to apocalyptic happenstances, and this didn’t let me down. I’m not a fan of politicians.

I understand that if you were a big Torchwood fan, you might have found this hard to take, but I loved it. I’d have liked to see some more, where they tell how how society coped with what had been planned – when the words “six months later” came up, I was hoping …
