begone …

our crabby old* neighbour moved out yesterday, taking her horrible loud music with her, and leaving the 20 odd ft high Leylandii. Well, I suppose they would be difficult to pack.

the new people knocked on the door this afternoon – almost the first thing they asked was did we mind if they chopped down the trees. Mind? We’re deliriously happy. Thrilled, in fact.

they seem very nice too, which is a plus. Wonder if they like feeding cats for neighbours …

*actually, she wasn’t that old. But she was crabby.

  1. My parents found that drilling into the roots of the Leylandii and then allowing half a can of diesel to soak in did for troublesome Leylandii quite nicely.

Once the neighbours had got over the unexplained malaise and death of their trees they cut them down.

    Result!

Still – it’s good to see you don’t have to resort to cloak and dagger methods… :o)

  2. You may recall we had a row of the damn things along the east boundary fence when we moved in. Before cutting then down we felt we ought to ask the neighbour, who might have been relying on them for a bit of privacy.

    She was over the moon.

But later she moved out and the new occupants currently have a leaky water pipe which is why party goers at the weekend may have noticed a roped off area, hithertoo called lawn, which we now refer to as “the swamp”. It’s spreading.

The water board were around this week, hopefully they’ll have it fixed RSN…
