GIP

in between getting the new G5* ready for work on Monday, and getting the old G4 ready to go to agc tomorrow, we nipped (or popped, if you prefer) to Costco to get a few bits and pieces, then over to Waitrose for a few more bits and pieces. Costco had a depressingly sparkly breakout of festering fayre, and people were buying it … one chap had, I kid you not, an roof-mounted deer with twinkling lights in his trolley. It’s 1st October, folks – get a grip.

*yes thank you. It’s very nice indeed (this is an understatement, obviously) – and incredibly quiet. Although how anyone can do anything on OSX with only 512Mb of RAM, I don’t know … mind you, I do have a Virtual PC using 160Mb (which is not nearly enough either), but there’s another 2Gb coming on Monday. Which is nice.

Maybe he needed the extra months or so to make ‘necessary modifications’ to the twinkly deer which will take several months to perfect….

There is already an extra aisle devoted to chocolate in our very own centres of retail excellence north of t’border – its the ramp-up to retail engorgement season all right.

  2. In San Francisco I saw the Holiday Avenue at Macy’s full of C*******s sh** *weeks* before halloween, even. We need a local ordinance to outlaw this haste! or just ordnance, perhaps…
