That we can buy an animal’s life for less than £2 makes me want to vomit.
I watched the Jamie Oliver chicken thing recently, and the only thing that came as a surprise was the mere pennies that farmers are paid per chicken. And we wonder why the poor things are bred in misery. Gah.
Important issues of animal welfare aside, I recoil at the idea that an animal’s life is now worth less than two quid.
