I am not a councillor

Carl Daniel Francis-Pester (Conservative) 724
Mac Mary Jordan (Liberal Democrat) 277

which is a damn sight more than I expected!

sadly, North Somerset LibDems suffered a virtual washout, for reasons I am too tired to investigate right now.

time for a quick glass of Bushmills and a check of the intarweb before I crawl off to bed for a few hours.

Parish Council results won’t be out for a few days yet.

    1. indeed – I actually polled about 40% of the vote in Abbots Leigh, which is extraordinary. When I was leafleting up there, I nearly suffocated under the smell of filthy lucre.

  1. Well done … that was going to be a tough fight. The important thing is that you got out there and fought it. I am very, very proud of you for doing that.

Me, I’m off to the count in three hours. I have no idea what I am right now, apart from knackered. I had my knock-up team running down the street at 9 p.m. last night, getting the vote out. I have discovered a whole new aspect of myself.

    1. we kept wondering how you were doing, until it occurred to me to check, and discovered that your count is today.

      everything x-ed for you!

  2. Well done you!
I’m afraid too many people still see a LibDem vote as a wasted vote. I’ll just carry on wasting my votes regardless 🙂

  3. Don’t worry, they’ll get you eventually.

My mother was elected at first attempt, but that was back in the seventies when it was all a bit odd.

It took my father over 30 years before he was eventually elected. And later this month he takes up the chain & mace. So it can come out all right in the end.

    Just a little perseverence.

      1. i’m somewhat older than the C64.

and whilst it might be possible that I was hatched in the carcass of one it was decided in the interests of avoiding cranial overloads in you puny earthlings if you had to deal with the knotted nature of the causality involved that at least one of my births would be more traditional in nature.

  4. fantastic!! come the next election you’ll win it hands down…keeping fingers, toes and antlers crossed for the results of the parish council ones 🙂

  5. I’m impressed you tried, Mac. I don’t know whether to congratulate you on avoiding all the thankless WORK that would have been involved in being elected, or sympathise with not getting more votes!

But I was that Red Guard Young Liberal in 1966…
