it's a world gone mad

I just phoned TNT, in a hopeless sort of way, to find out the whereabouts of teh shiny.

we all know couriers, don’t we – never answer the phone. If they do, they put you on hold then cut you off.

phone was answered on the second ring by a polite, competent woman. She told me how late they might deliver. She told me exactly when they were open in the morning. She told me exactly what paperwork I would need to collect it.

bet it doesn’t catch on …

Maybe she can infect my local DHL office. It’s on an industrial estate somewhere, and when the phone is answered, and that’s a big ‘when’, it always sounds as though the janitor has just put down his broom and come in to take the call out of the goodness of his heart. I never quite believe things are going to arrive.
